A Snow Chute Tailored to Your Needs

Snow chutes are an essential solution for safely clearing snow from flat roofs. Since every roof is unique, it’s crucial to customize snow chutes to fit the specific characteristics of each roof. One key factor to consider is the presence of a parapet and, if applicable, its height. That’s why Delta Prevention offers two tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of different roof configurations, ensuring both safety and efficiency during snow removal operations.

Snow Chute

In this configuration, the snow chute consists of a 10-foot section of VSS Compact freestanding guardrail. This guardrail system has been specially modified to facilitate safe and efficient snow removal by allowing workers to push snow securely. This solution includes an adjustable lower rail, which can be temporarily raised during snow-clearing tasks, providing additional space to make snow displacement easier and improve overall efficiency.

Snow Chute with Ramp

In this configuration, the guardrail system is modified to facilitate safe and efficient roof snow removal. Some roof configurations, such as those with excessively high parapets, are not suitable for a standard snow chute. In these cases, a ramp must be added to the system to overcome this obstacle. This modification also requires raising the top rail of the freestanding guardrail to ensure user safety while on the ramp. This is a fully customized solution, tailored to the specific characteristics of each roof, providing an efficient and safe snow removal process.

Where to Install the Snow Chute?

The placement of a snow chute depends on where you want the snow to accumulate on the ground. It’s essential to position the snow chute precisely at that location to optimize snow removal operations. Depending on the size of your roof, the number of snow chutes required may vary. For larger roofs, installing multiple chutes is advisable to distribute the snow-clearing zones effectively. Properly spacing the snow chutes minimizes the movement of snow removal workers across the roof, simplifying their tasks while enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

A Collective Protection Solution for a Risky Task

Snow removal on the ground already carries a risk of falls, but adding height and slippery surfaces significantly increases the danger. Installing a snow chute on your roof provides a collective protection solution for all snow removal workers. This system secures the working environment and allows workers to focus entirely on their tasks without worrying about individual protective equipment. It is a straightforward and effective solution to reduce risks and improve working conditions at heights.
